Fabric Garland

Hello again, fellow crafters ~

I recently finished my fabric garland.  It was super fun to make, super easy, and a tiny way to help save the planet, since I used solely recycled and upcycled materials.

Sweet Knitted Baby Hat

An Easter weekend hello!

I've had this hat on my needles for quite a while.  So glad to finish it this morning!  The yarn is called Fixation (by Cascade Yarns) and it has a bit of elastic in it, perfect for a head-hugging fit for baby.

Fixation Baby Hat
My favorite part?  The little nubbins on the top.  They were very fun to make.

If you knit and you are interested in making one of these little hats, you can find the pattern at www.cascadeyarns.com/patterns_fixation.

Happy Knitting,

Marsha

Marshmallow Bunny Peeps Wreath

Hello!

Okay, so you KNOW you want to make one of these.  So easy.  Quick, make one now before the Peeps sell out for Easter!

Here is what you need:

4 packages of Marshmallow Bunny Peeps
Acrylic spray (I used Krylon Glitter Shimmer)
Craft wreath (I used a straw wreath)
Glue gun and glue sticks
Ribbon

Here is what you do:

1.  Assemble your supplies.

2.  Spray the bunnies with the acrylic spray.

3.  Glue bunnies sideways all the way around wreath.

4.  Add a bow and find a place to hang your wreath. Mine is just outside the front door.

Now go and make your very own Marshmallow Bunny Peeps Wreath! And leave me a comment so I know how yours turned out.

With Marshmallow-y Easter Happiness,

Marsha

Mini-Weaving

Here is a close-up of one of a series of mini-weaving works that I'm just finishing.  The loom I'm using is a mere 4" x 6".  I'm experimenting with various materials for the weft, including cashmere from reclaimed sweaters, baker's twine, wool roving, and found objects (seashells, twigs).

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a great day!

Reuse, Renew

Today I'm thinking about ways I can reuse and recycle materials to make new crafts.  I picked up some green and flowered curtains through Freecycling (do you know about Freecycling?  Click here to find out more https://www.freecycle.org).  And I'm cutting up my old lavender colored sheets that are too worn out to be used on the bed.

My idea is to make a fabric garland.  Here I'm using some twine and simply tying on the fabric strips that I've cut so far.  I'm sizing them one inch wide by six inches long and using pinking shears for extra beauty :).

So far, so good!

Check back soon.  I'll post the finished garland for you.

Until next post,

Marsha

Peep!

Hello again,

I've made a few of these little peepers.  A joy to knit in pure wool - fast, fun, cute.  I've stuffed each chick with cotton balls and added a felt beak and googly eyes.

Ahh, springtime.  Don't you love it?

With Springtime cheer to you!

A Crafty Weekend

I spent some time crafting this weekend.  The chickens were a tremendous help.

Buttercup and Sassy, our eldest Plymouth Barred Rock, wondering what all the fuss is about.

Check back soon for pictures of my latest mini-weaving, as well as some Buttercup-inspired knitted chicks.

With crafty cheer,
