IRIS Workshop

I taught a wonderful art class in New Haven last week, working with Afgan women through Integrated Refugee and Immigrant Services (IRIS) and Guilford Art Center.  The women are part of an ESOL Class offered through IRIS and receive various sorts of programming throughout the day.

I designed this class to be fun, accessible and creatively focused on pattern building and design.  It was a success!  Lots of smiles and intent concentration as the group of 14 worked on making necklaces for about an hour.

This is a unique collaboration between Guilford Art Center and IRIS New Haven and I was glad to be a part of it.  I hope to teach an additional class with IRIS in the fall!
