It's all about collage

Dear Readers,

Greetings on another cold, wet, rainy day in March!  What's a poor girl to do?  Ah ha, YES!  Collage.

 Collage, you say?

Here is how good ol' Mirriam-Webster defines collage:

Collage:

a :  an artistic composition made of various materials (as paper, cloth, or wood) glued on a surface.

b :  a creative work that resembles such a composition in incorporating various materials or elements.

And there you have it.  Collage.

Collage.  It's fun to say!!!

It's even more fun to try.

Here is some of my work from yesterday (yes, it was rainy and cold then, too):

This is a work in progress.  Phone books, magazine photos, maps - I still have so many collage ideas I want to try!!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

Until next time,

Marsha

Falling in love, all over again

Happy Sunday!

If you know me, you know that one of my favorite things to do is to crochet granny squares.  I especially enjoy using cotton yarn in interesting color combinations.

The color combinations are endless.  And each combination creates a new pattern.  Add a border, and you've got completely new look.  What's not to love?

The spring colors make me think of the warmer weather ahead.  And that makes me smile.

I hope you love my granny squares as much as I love them.

With Granny Goodness for a wonderful day to you,

Marsha

Feeling Blue

Dear Blog Readers,

Seriously.  Feeling.  Blue.

I loathe the month of March.

Too much cold.

Too much snow.

I've decided to make the best of it by really going BLUE.  I am experimenting with aquamarines and teals on both fabric and paper.

Here, I'm using a fiber reactive dye on fabric:

And here, dyes and paint on both paper and fabric:

I feel a little bit better.

Spring can't come soon enough.

Til next post,

Marsha
