Continued Work at Common Ground - First Session Success!

We kicked off my Warming Stripes Weaving Project at Common Ground High School in New Haven the first week of March.  The first session was a rousing success - much noise, with loud hammering of nails into wooden frames!  But the final result - twelve looms, completely constructed from scratch and fully warped - BRAVO!

Hammering in brads.
Goggles for safety.
Time to warp.

Warping success!
Last week, the kids started doing temperature data research and also started to weave their first stripes.  Can't wait for this project to continue!  (Temporarily on hold due to COVID-19 closures).

I'm thrilled to see the work you are doing with Common Grounds students. I hope they will continue into the quarantine time with great enthusiasm! Best to you from Jane

Thank you so much for your comment. Unfortunately we were not able to continue with the project. I'm hopeful that I can find a new group to do this project. Thanks again!
